Meet Our Think Like a Pony Instructors

My name is Antoinette Moore. I have been lucky enough to have always had ponies and horses in my life. I worked with horses straight after finishing school but then had to get a "proper" job to pay the bills! Whilst working in an office job, I took my B.H.S.A.I. exams part time and continued to teach and work as a riding instructor. In this same period, I began to compete in endurance events with my horse.
After being made redundant from my office job, I found my present job at a riding school, N.V.Q. assessing and teaching adults and children to ride. I have always felt there must be a lighter way of handling and riding horses than the traditional methods, which I had been taught. Because of this, I began to dabble in various different schools of horsemanship to look for a method that would make ponies and children safer and happier.
I soon found the Think Like a Pony concept and was thrilled as I immediately recognised a safer and more empathetic way of teaching children and their ponies. I first encountered Lynn Henry when she launched her first book, the Think Like a Pony Foundation book, at an Equine Ethology event and then a second chance meeting at an equestrian event in Buxton started me on the road to becoming a Think Like A Pony instructor.
The journey to Think Like a Pony instructorship has changed mine and my horses lives and way of thinking forever. I feel privileged to have become part of this unique and diverse team and am excited about the opportunity to introduce children and adults to this life enhancing way of horsemanship.
